EASTER IS BEING TRANSFORMED
Jesus is risen, Alleluia!
The whole Christian world once again exclaims that Jesus is alive! Death has no more power over Him. Sin can never clutch His immortal body. Darkness cannot vanquish light. This is the good news of Easter. And this is the same news that we hold on as we go in history.
It is said that there are several proofs for the Resurrection of Jesus – the empty tomb, the well-folded linen, the accounts of the soldiers, etc. But I believe that Jesus is truly alive because of the remarkable transformation of His disciples. They were so convinced that Jesus had risen that no amount of persecution, rejection, and oppression prevailed over them. The tenacity of their faith is one of the best proofs of the Easter news. They were not fanatics. They were believers with a cause. They were recipients of God’s grace. Thanks to them, we can still sing our Alleluias today.
My dear parishioners, we are once again singing our Alleluias’s. But Easter is more than just shouting Gloria’s and Hosanna’s. Easter is more than just Easteregg hunting. Easter is being transformed like the first disciples. Easter is about acquiring a strong and formidable faith. Easter is about radiating the life and love of Jesus to the world.
We too can provide the best proof for Easter. We may not be eyewitnesses of the resurrection. But definitely, we are partakers of Easter joy. By promoting peace, by holding on to our faith in God, by loving and serving our neighbor, we are proclaiming with our hearts that Jesus is alive.
Let us prove to the world that Jesus has risen. Let Jesus live in our hearts!
HAPPY EASTER!
